A deadly virus named HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is behind the occurrence of AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome). It impairs the immune system weakening the inherent ability of the body to fight infections and diseases. HIV virus can pass from one person to another through blood or sexual contact as it is found in the body fluids including semen, vaginal fluids, blood and breast milk. It can also be transmitted by blood transfusion and use of contaminated hypodermic needles.

As the metabolism of the body slows down, toxins pollute the system and immunity (ojas) is reduced. If this is allowed to continue, coupled with high-risk exposure to infection, the body fails to resist disease. When all seven body tissues are deteriorated,

multiple disorders occur. Stress, worry, overwork and excessive sexual indulgence further augment the decrease in ojas.

Common symptoms:

  • Diarrhea
  • Weakness
  • Weight loss
  • Red rashes
  • Enlarged glands
  • Night sweating
  • Sore throat
  • Muscular pain
  • Joint pain
  • Chills
  • Fever
